Somewhere between your baby’s first steps and their first real sentences, something shifts. They want to do things themselves. They want to explore. They test limits, mostly yours. Our toddler classroom is built for exactly that stage.
We welcome toddlers from 15 months to 2 years into a room designed around what Reggio Emilia calls the learning triangle: teacher, child, and environment, all working together instead of one directing the other two.
A Classroom That Grows With Them
Toddlers who are just finding their feet need room to move without chaos. Our classroom stays calm enough for focused play and open enough for the kind of active, energetic exploration that builds coordination and rhythm.
You’ll find blocks, puzzles, art supplies, and books throughout the room, chosen to spark imaginative play and support thinking skills that are just starting to develop. Nothing is locked away for “later.” At this age, everything is a chance to learn.
Circle time happens daily. Stories, songs, a shared moment where the whole group sits together and starts building a sense of community, even before most of them can hold a full conversation.
Learning That Meets Every Kind of Mind
Not every toddler learns the same way, and we don’t expect them to. Our activities are designed around multiple intelligences, so a child who learns best through movement gets that outlet, and a child who learns best through sound or touch gets theirs too.
The goal isn’t to rush anyone toward a milestone. It’s to give each toddler what they need to grow at their own pace, in an environment that feels steady and secure.
Independence, One Small Step at a Time
This is often the age where potty training begins, and we treat it the way we treat everything else here: as a partnership with you. Every family does this differently, on a different timeline, and we adjust to match what works for your child rather than pushing a one-size-fits-all approach.
That same respect for independence shows up everywhere in the toddler room. Children are encouraged to make small decisions and take initiative, whether that’s choosing an activity or trying something new on their own first, before asking for help.

The move happens gradually. Toddler teachers work with your child’s infant teachers to introduce the new classroom and routine step by step, and we keep parents in the loop throughout the process.
When should I start potty training, and does JOL help with it?
There’s no single right age. We follow each child’s readiness and work directly with families to keep the approach consistent between home and school.
Will my toddler start talking more in this program?
